Rottweilers were originally bred to pull carts and guard homes. This intense breed ranks among the first livestock herders. Many consider Rottweilers smart and active, needing ample attention and exercise. Without these, they can become aggressive. That aggression can quickly escalate to biting, attacking, or scratching. The Association of Professional Dog Trainers estimates a Rottweiler’s bite force at 328 psi—about 2.5 times stronger than a human’s.
