Herons are a bird that almost everyone likes, in contrast to geese. Since it's where you're most likely to encounter them, people frequently assume that herons are restricted to living in swamps or reeds. That impression is untrue, though, because herons actually construct their nests atop enormous trees.

With his aerial photo titled "Where Herons Live," Dmitri Viliunov allowed us to observe the homes of herons. At the Drone Awards, this dreamy, nearly painting-like image took first place in the Wildlife Category. "Where Herons Live" may have made use of the DJI Mini 2 quadcopter. Though it is small enough not to startle the herons, it can reach an altitude where they make their nest.
