2014 saw the beginning of a new chapter in the city's history as the terrible events of 9/11 were finally put to rest. In 2009, the PANYNJ (Port Authority of New York and New Jersey) verified that the official name of the building is "One World Trade Centre," not the increasingly popular "Freedom Tower."
