The homeowner believed that since the Wildwood cottage was constructed in the 1920s, the funds belonged to the original occupants. The cash were hidden in little rolls wrapped with rubber bands where the porch of the house formerly stood. The treasure-finder speculated that since Prohibition had just ended the previous year, the $10s and $20s might have been connected to illicit activities.
